Card Terminal
We have designed and built the first US card terminal designed specifically to
accept contactless bankcards offline in a secure environment.
- Proprietary fraud protection
- Up to 90 transactions per minute
- Minimally intrusive integration
• handles creditcards, defers housecards to legacy system
• transparently integrates with agency WAN
- Supports complex fare products
• ride based
• time based
• transfers
• transit benefits
- Integrates with legacy fare collection
• 14443 contacless
• proprietary contactless
• magnetic stripe
While other companies have contactless readers, their devices have limited security features. Limited security is fine for pilots but when the first U.S. system goes live on a large scale, we predict fraud will be rampant unless stronger security is implemented. Transit agencies take note: it is you who will pay for fraud and chargebacks!
Central Fare Processor
We have developed the missing link in bankcard processing: the fare processor that converts card presentations into bankcard charges. In conventional card processing, every presentation of a card results in a charge. This is not true in public transit, where some riders have monthly passes and some rides are free transfers. Using a business rule-processor, our fare processor applies transit agencies' business rules to card presentations. It is a necessary step in bankcard processing and clearing.
With contemporary design and security, our system scales so as to work on the smallest or largest scale. Watch a 13-minute video about our central system here.
